Virginia Ann Watson

The world lost a beloved soul as Virginia Ann Watson, age 74, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Born on October 23, 1948, in McPherson, Kansas, Virginia was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the fourth of ten children born to the late Gordon Claypool and the late Ellen Sanford Claypool. Throughout her life, Virginia radiated warmth and kindness wherever she went. She was a woman of unwavering faith, finding solace in her church and dedicating herself to its children's ministry. Her immense love for others manifested through countless acts of compassion, providing comfort and guidance to those who needed it most. Outside the church walls, Virginia found solace in the delicate art of crochet. Her nimble fingers created beautiful pieces, each stitch woven with love and care. Her creations became cherished heirlooms, passed down through generations, and each thread reflected her creativity and attention to detail. Virginia's spiritual journey led her to be an active member of various Baptist churches throughout her life. She found solace and community in Calvary Baptist and Trinity Baptist Church in Grand Prairie before embracing her current spiritual home, Story Road Baptist in Irving. Left to cherish her memory are her adoring husband, Gary Watson, their devoted daughter, Naomi Watson, and loving son, Sam Watson. Virginia's legacy also lives on through her grandchildren, Caleb Shain,(Raven) Jacob Shain, and Michael Shain, who were the joy of her life. She adored her three great grandchildren. She maintained a special bond and shared many treasured moments together with several family members, including her sister Bonnie Claypool, mother-in-law Corine Watson along with brother & sister in-laws, nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Hannah Watson-Shain. To honor Virginia's life, a Funeral Service will be held at Guerrero Dean Funeral Home on September 23, 2023, at 12:00 pm. officiated by Pastor Larry Craig. Prior to the service, a Public Viewing will take place at Guerrero Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 am, providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to pay their last respects. Virginia Ann Watson's departure has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and selfless love will forever be remembered. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her cherished memories bring comfort to those who mourn her loss. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the children's ministry at Story Road Baptist Church in Irving, in honor of Virginia Ann Watson.
