Thomas Gerald Kane

Thomas Gerald Kane, a cherished father, decorated veteran, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, in Grand Prairie, Texas, at the age of 71. Born on September 28, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, Thomas was a long-time resident of Grand Prairie, where he built a life filled with hard work, laughter, and love. Thomas was a skilled worker, having dedicated many years to driving overland trucks and honing his carpentry skills. His talent for crafting and building brought joy not only to his family but to the many friends and communities he served. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Thomas's bravery and dedication to his country were a testament to his character and values. In times of good health, Thomas found solace in nature, often spending his days fishing and gathering his friends for memorable fish fries. He cherished the moments spent with loved ones, particularly during Thanksgiving, when he eagerly shared his favorite dish-homemade banana pudding-bringing sweetness and warmth to family gatherings. Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love and connection, survived by his son, Jeremy Kane (Liza); his daughter, Amanda Mayfield (Bryan); brother, Dennis Fowler (Teresa); 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. His love will continue to live on through them and the memories they hold close to their hearts. Commital Services will be observed with Military Honors on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Dallas Fort-Worth National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his wife of forty-four years, Dianne Vera Simpson Kane. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Thomas's remarkable life, share stories, and honor the warmth he brought to all who knew him. Details of the ceremony will be announced shortly. As we bid farewell to a man who touched our lives so deeply, we remember his laughter, his kindness, and the love he generously shared. Gerald will be missed, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. In addition to his wife, Thomas was preceded in death by parents; Thomas U. Kane and Matti Evelyn Callaway (Kane); daughter, D'Lisa Noseff, sisters, Norma Shearin, Kathy Carter, Lisa Navarro and Hazel Kane.
