Lt Col USA (Ret) Norman Lee Barth

Lt. Col. (Ret) Norman Lee Barth, 94, the only child and son and the late David Solomon Barth and the late Emily Evelyn Smith Barth, was born on May 14, 1928 in Urich, Missouri, and passed away at his home in Omaha, Texas on February 5, 2023. Visitation: 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2023 at The Heartland Church, 4022 Nazarene Drive, Carrollton, TX where Funeral Services will follow at 1. Burial with Military Honors: 9 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Norman Barth was raised in Lucas, MO, where he attend Lucas grade School, also attending Urich High School before graduating from Westport High School 1945. He would also attend The University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in 1954. Norman was raised in Lucas United Methodist Church following in the footsteps of his dad and grandad, John Barth, who was one of the founders of the Lucas Methodist Church. Later in life while attending a United Pentecostal Church, he received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and continued to associate with the Apostolic belief until his death. 1948, Norman enlisted in the Missouri National Guard. He received a commission in 1951 after graduating from college, and went to Gary Air Force Base in San Marcos, Texas for pilot training. After graduation, he would attend Advanced Pilot Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In 1955, he would move to Fort Worth where he taught at Lake Worth High School. A year later, he would return to Fort Sill where he was on the instructor staff in the Department of Communications and Electronics. After rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel, he would retire from the Army in 1979. He moved to Garland, Texas, where he went to work for Collins Radio. It later became Rockwell International and then Alcatel He stayed active as a soldier in the church and in the Army Reserve Forces, remaining active in church until the time of his death. Survivors: wife of twenty-five years, Nina Hodges Barth; children, David Barth (Cindy), Dan Barth (Twyla), Michael Obennoskey (Tonja), Robert Obennoskey (Kim), grandchildren;Dustin Barth, Jordan Barth (Kristina), Kristy Medcalf (Brandon), Ashley Keller (Justin), Daniel Obennoskey, Monica Gravitt (Daniel), Amanda Obennoskey Cole Obennoskey (Lauren), Brandy Obennoskey, Katie Zatonyl (Matias), Kristen Obennoskey, Kylie Steen (Tyler), Tiffany Obennoskey, Jared Obennoskey (Macie).
