Maryann Mila Rees

It is with a mixture of sorrow and joy that we announce the passing of Maryann Mila Rees, who left this world peacefully on April 1, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on June 3, 1955, in Manheim, Germany, Maryann was the cherished matriarch of a loving family, a proud veteran, and a devoted friend. Maryann was the oldest of two siblings, Donna Woods, and Theo Schmidt. Her life was a remarkable tapestry woven with love, commitment and hard work. She served Honorably thru retirement in the United States Navy, where she honed her skills as a construction mechanic, as a Seabee. a testament to her determination and strength. Her professional journey also included fulfilling roles at the US Postal Service and a call center in Oklahoma, where she balanced work with caring for her aging father. Those who knew her would agree that her work ethic was admirable, often remarking that she was a true workaholic. In 1988, while stationed in Diego Gracia, Maryann met the love of her life, David Gareth Rees. Their bond was an inspiring partnership, a journey filled with shared dreams and unwavering support. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, including Paul Roebuck, and also daughters, Danielle Aaron, Tonja (T-bone) Roebuck as well as granddaughter Meagan Privitt. Maryann took immense pride in being a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with them. She leaves 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Maryann is remembered as a vibrant soul whose love and laughter brought warmth to those around her. Funeral services and memorial ceremonies to honor Maryann's remarkable life will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2025 as family and friends come together to share memories, stories, and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Her family will honor her request of cremation, followed by scattering at sea, conducted thru the United States Navy, at a laster date. While we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate the vibrant life of Maryann Mila Rees-a woman whose spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever. Maryann was preceded in death by: parents; Titus Schmidt, Mila Kuppinger Schmidt, son John Wayne Jarvis and daughter Summer Wain Jarvis, daughter-in-law Christina Ancheta, and god parents Lillian and Robert Thomas.
