Mary Elizabeth Beckham

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Mary Elizabeth Beckham, a cherished mother, beloved cook, and an indelible presence in the lives she touched. Mary was born on March 14, 1930, in Grand Prairie, Texas, where she lived most of her life. Surrounded by her family and friends, she departed this world peacefully on March 3, 2025, at the age of 94. Mary was known not only for her warm smile and gentle spirit but also for her passion for cooking. A true culinary artisan, she devoted herself to preparing meals for her loved ones, most notably her celebrated spaghetti and Mexican chicken, which she always made from scratch. These dishes became a beloved staple for family gatherings, fostering cherished memories and connections that will endure beyond her years. At the tender age of 14, Mary first met her husband at the Meadowbrook Swimming Pool, where a lifelong journey of love and companionship began. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with laughter and warmth that lasted seventy-seven years. Mary is survived by her devoted daughters, Sharon Roman (Keith) Arnell Holliman, who will honor her mother's legacy with the love and affection that Mary bestowed upon her family; a brother, Billy Wayne Key, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchild. As we come together to remember and celebrate Mary Elizabeth Beckham's remarkable life, the following services will be held: A public viewing will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home where Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 pm Friday. Burial will follow at Southland Memorial Park. Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband and son, where her memory will remain alive in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her. We invite all who knew Mary to join us in celebrating a life lived with grace, love, and kindness. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by parents: George Key, Ruby Key; son, Kenneth Ray Beckham; siblings, George Key, Jack Key, Leon Key, Douglas Key, Naomi Skinner, Helen Norton, Norma Todd, Zelma Kahl and Clara Chambliss. Pallbearers: grandsons and great-grandsons, Brady Golden, Reilly Golden, Rodney Golden, Sean Hicks, Trevor Hicks, and Joey Holliman.
