Luke Wayne McKinney, 39, of Grand Prairie Texas has gone to join His Heavenly Father on July 26, 2026. Born on April 28, 1987 Luke came into the world at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. The third born in his family Luke's birth was most anticipated as he was the only son after two daughters. Luke was a whirlwind of energy, playing multiple sports and conquering each as if he was born to play them. With bright blue eyes Luke was a ladies man at a young age. As life moved forward Luke dealt with many challenges in life, but never gave up. He was always excited when he got to spend time with his family especially his sister Tabatha who was his best friend through most of his childhood and teen years. Luke would greet his parents with childlike joy when he would encounter them out and about, as his love for his family never diminished throughout his life. As an adult Luke found himself with a desire to read scripture and then share his newfound love of Jesus with everyone who wanted to listen and even those who might have been a bit more reluctant to hear it. Despite not having many worldly possessions when Luke was gifted with almost anything he was willing to share. If asked he would be willing to part with the last dollar in his pocket if someone else needed it more. Looking back at Luke's life his family has remembered an abundance of laughs and tears from Luke being embarrassed when he played dolls with his sisters to remembering his grief when he was helping bury his younger sister. Luke is preceded in death by his little sister, Jessica. He is survived by his son, Conrad; his parents, Bill and Mary; his sister, Tabatha Mason, and her husband Trent Mason; his sister, Percella Scarpinato, and her husband, Nicholas Scarpinato; his nephew, Anthony Garcia, and his wife, Taylor Garcia; his nephew, Micheal Scarpinato, and his wife, Kayla Scarpinato; and his nephew, Eric Scarpinato, and his wife, Alyssa Scarpinato. Family and Friends may say their goodbyes to Luke on August 12, 2026 from 2-5 PM. Immediate family meaning siblings and parents only will start their goodbyes from 1 PM - 2PM during the viewing of Luke at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home in Grand Prairie, Texas. A small wake and memorial ceremony will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Bridge in Dallas Texas or your local homeless ministry. Though his journey on earth has ended, he will forever remain in the hearts of his family. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4 "Luke go forward and enjoy your new home. We are celebrating that you will deal with no more earthly challenges and are now complete and whole in your new heavenly home!"
