Claudia Jean Rogers

Claudia Jean “Nana” Rogers, 64, passed away peacefully, Friday, April 7th, 2023, in Mansfield, Texas, with her family by her side. She was born July 30, 1958, and had two wonderful parents, the late Jimmy Leonard Hensley, and the late Oneeta Hazel Cherry. After graduating high school in 1976 Claudia would marry the love her life and high school sweetheart, Gary Duane Rogers. In 1979 they would welcome their first child, Gary Rogers Jr. She was very proud of her two children and loved being their mother. She helped raise her siblings like her own and would later help raise her grandchildren. She loved her family passionately and deeply. Claudia had many joys, like traveling, and cross stitching and was active in her high school friends book club. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Grand Prairie since 2002.Her family will remember her by being “an excellent, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend”. Survivors: Husband of 46 years, Gary Rogers Sr. of Grand Prairie; son, Gary Rogers Jr. and wife Amy, daughter, Christa Rogers; grandchildren, Bryce, Makayla, and Jaiden; sister, Terry Kirchmeyer and husband Ray; sister, Stacey Hensley; brother, Russell Hensley and wife Cathy; sister, Diana Reed and husband Larry; nieces and nephews, Mark Jr., Staci, April, Andrew, Stephanie, Katie, and Patrick; aunt, Dot Wainwright; cousins, Belinda Wainwright and Shelby Wainwright. She is also survived by a host of friends and loved ones including the Gopher Girls, class of 1976. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 9:15 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2023, at First United Methodist Church of Grand Prairie, 122 N. Center Street, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050. Burial will follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 11 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home under the direction of Aaron King, Funeral Director.
