Cheri Gaye McFarland

Cheri Gaye McFarland of Dallas, TX, passed away on September 24th, 2023, after battling lung cancer for almost two years. Gaye is survived by her mother, Regina Dickinson; husband, William E. McFarland; beloved children; Nichole Conley and Scott Sale. She was beyond blessed with a son-in-law; Dylan Conley; two precious grandsons; Sawyer and Gage; sister, Debbie Ellsworth; nieces, Staci Stevens and Kristi Basinger; nephew-in-law, Bill Stevens; great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Gaye was born in Clovis, New Mexico on May 26, 1952, daughter of the late Curtis Dickinson and Regina Webster Dickinson. She grew up in Fowler, Kansas where she spent her early school years. During her childhood, she and her sister, sang and harmonized in the church where her father was the pastor. Gaye's family moved to Lubbock, TX in 1962, where she attended Lubbock Christian High School. Later she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a short time before moving to Dallas where she worked at TEX PAC Express. She met her husband, David Sale, and they were married in October of 1977, a seventeen year relationship. They were blessed with 2 beautiful children and resided in Mesquite, TX. She started working at Dallas Independent School District Administration Department while making life long friends and resigned to start a new adventure with her favorite nephew-in-law at Berkey's in Grapevine, where she loved and was loved by many. In November of 2010, Gaye met her future husband, William. In 2018, she retired and became a full time Gigi. She and William spent most of their time enjoying each others company, along with the ones they loved most. Their favorite places to visit were Matagorda, TX and the beautiful mountains in Tennessee. They were married in November of 2021. Gaye was full of joy and laughter and had a love for The Lord that was unshakeable. She was encouraging, uplifting, and she loved doing things for others. Gaye was a cheerleader for everyone, but especially for the Dallas Cowboys. She was their biggest fan. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 7, 2023 at Landmark Family Fellowship, 2523 Clay Mathis Rd, Mesquite TX, 75181. Doors will open at 11 a.m. with Service beginning at 12 p.m. A reception will follow from 1 to 3 p.m. for those who would like to stay and reminisce. In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to offer a personal act of kindness and smiles in her memory.
