Maria Estella Ontiveros Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Maria Estella Ontiveros, 68, loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, passed away on May 31, 2021 following a lengthy struggle with her health. Visitation: 5 to 8 pm Friday, June 4, 2021 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX, 75050. A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later time at Gateway Church, Grand Prairie Campus. Burial: Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens. Maria Estella Luna Ontiveros was born on November 17, 1952, the oldest of 9 children born to the late Jose Luna and the late Blasa Aguilar Luna in the valley of South Texas. The family would move to the Grand Prairie area in late 1980's where they would raise their children. She recently retired from Kroger where she worked as a cake decorator for more than thirty years. Maria was a skilled cook and loved baking for her family. She loved traveling to various locations, especially if it allowed beach time. Although always loving, the family knew not to interrupt during her favorite soap operas, novellas, The Voice or Dancing with the Stars. It seemed as she was always giving, wither advice, love or prayer. She was a faithful Christian, attending Gateway Church when health allowed, or simply leading worship in her home. She leaves behind her 3 children, Benjamin Ontiveros (Lisa), John Anthony Ontiveros (Rebecca), Gabriel Ontiveros; grandchildren, Christina Ontiveros, Benjamin Ontiveros Jr, Dallas Ontiveros, Chance Ontiveros, Nathan Ontiveros, Johnothan Ontiveros, Gabriella Ontiveros, Elizabeth Ontiveros; great-grandchildren, Noah, Evangeline, Paul, Xavier, Naveah and Samantha. Also by siblings; Mary Rodriguez (Pedro), Robert Luna (Irene), Imelda Luna, Sylvia Aquino (Ramon), Michael Luna (Debbie), Linda Luna and Sandra Luna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Antonio Ontiveros and a brother, Hector Luna.
