Louise Huff Hudspeth

Louise Boyd Huff Hudspeth (everyone’s beloved “Granny”), 92, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 in San Antonio, TX. She was born in Dawson, Georgia on April 11, 1928 to the late Harold A. Boyd and Sarah Gandy Boyd. Louise married Fred L. Huff in October of 1946 in Midland, Texas and raised her family there. She worked at Texaco as a Texas Railroad Commission Clerk for 35 years. In 1971, she married Russ Hudspeth, then after retirement they spent many glorious years in Port Isabel, TX fishing and RVing. After Russ’ stroke, they returned to Midland where they continued their retirement travels throughout the United States. After Russ passed away in 2003, Louise moved to Grand Prairie to live with her daughter Sandi. She became active at The Summit, First Baptist Church, Grand Prairie Woman's Club and the Branding Irons Committee of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce. Louise led the Monday night Texas Hold 'Em Poker Group at the Summit for many years, and won the Grand Champion Trophy in 2006. In her golden years, she moved into Atria Senior Living and spent her final days at Inspiration Hills Rehabilitation Center in San Antonio under the care of her granddaughter, Jenny. Granny was the matriarch of 5 generations and is survived by her daughters, Sandi Huff Morrison and soulmate Terry Schubert; Susan Huff Windham and husband Tom; daughter-in-law, Debbie Kotara Huff; step-son Andy Hudspeth and wife Bonnie. Surviving grandchildren are Jeff Copeland and wife Melanie; Jayson Huff and wife Kara; Tony Huff and wife Kellie; Kyle Huff; Jamie Huff Brown and partner Blake Reeves; Brian Windham and wife Monica; Jennifer Louise Windham Pitner and husband Chris; Cindy Morrison Canada; Tammy Morrison Carson; Bianca Heath and husband Jason. Surviving great-grandchildren are Curt Copeland and wife Morgan; Hayley Copeland Mattson and husband Trey; Jack Huff; Eyan Huff; T.J. Huff; Cameron Windham; Carlie Pitner; Zachary Windham; Konnor Copeman; Jaxton Brown; Bentley Brown; Nikki Plumlee and husband Mike; Jacob Canada and wife Kelsey; Lyndsey Parsley and husband Jake; Kyndle Carson; Harland Heath; Hayden Heath; and, Hadley Heath. Surviving great-great grandchildren are Caleb Plumlee and wife Allyson; Weston Plumlee; Paisley Plumlee; Luke Preston Copeland; Kace Parsley; James Marie Copeland; and, Delaney Canada. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Russ Hudspeth; her infant son Gary Leonard Huff; and her son Rodney Harold Huff. Visitation and viewing will be at First Baptist Church Grand Prairie on Monday, September 14, 2020 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, with services following immediately at 2:00 PM. Services will be officiated by Dr. Bill Skaar, Pastor of First Baptist Church Grand Prairie. Burial will be at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
