"Steve" Thomas White

Steven Thomas White, 65, of Grand Prairie, was born January 29, 1960, in Dallas, Texas and passed away peacefully at his home, July 3, 2025, with his wife and children by his side as the Good Lord called him home. A lifelong resident of Grand Prairie and 1978 graduate of Grand Prairie High School, Steve was a proud Gopher and Varsity basketball player. He met the love of his life in 1984 at Arlington Baptist College. In 1985 they married at their church, Calvary Baptist, and in 2012 became active members of Willow Park Baptist Church. Though a proud UTA graduate, Steve was also a devoted Texas A&M fan, proudly cheering on the Aggies. He loved the simple things in life: family, church, sports, and his friends. He will be missed by so many. He will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, Pops, brother, Uncle Fester, and friend. Deuteronomy 11:19 “And ye shall teach [God’s words to] your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Thomas White, and his mother, Evelyn Doylene White. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Catherine Amy White of Grand Prairie; son Brandon Thomas White and wife, Katie, of Baytown, TX; daughter Lauren Teresa White of Grand Prairie; sister Melynn Bowen and husband Charles of Grand Prairie; grandchildren Bearett Thomas White and Leeland Keith White; brother-in-law, John Carney and wife Joy of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Daniel Carney and wife Tina of Woodworth, LA, and Christopher Carney and wife Lori of Paron, AR; sister-in-law, Teresa Stuckey and husband Rodney of Jacksonville, FL; along with a host of other relatives and friends. A Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Willow Park Baptist Church, 777 Crowne Point Blvd. Willow Park, Texas 76087. Pastor, Clark Bosher, Officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home under the direction of Aaron King, Funeral Director. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the youth department at Willow Park Baptist Church or a church of your choice. Steve had a passion for sending children to camp that could not afford to go.
