Sherry Lynn Asaro

Sherry Lynn Asaro, born on August 18, 1961, in Houston, Texas, passed away in the late night of July 9, 2026. A devoted mother, loving daughter & sister, and compassionate friend, Sherry leaves behind two sons, Mitchell Lee and William Kendall, her brother, Larry Hayes, her mother, Elinore Ellis, and daughter-in-law, Angelina Mejia-Gill. She was preceded in death by her father, William Hayes. She was an empath in every sense of the word. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with those around her and always sought to ensure the well-being of others. Her passion for caring extended beyond her family to the many animals she lovingly rescued throughout her life, including her cherished chihuahua mix, Lando. Throughout her life, Sherry found purpose in caring for others. Her work as a paramedic reflected a quality that followed her throughout her life and her natural instinct to help whenever someone was in need. She lived in communities throughout Texas, meeting countless people along the way and forming connections wherever life took her. To know Sherry was to know someone who felt deeply. She was passionate about the people and things she cared about, quick to share a laugh, and never afraid to let her personality show. She had a way of making even the smallest moments memorable, whether through a familiar saying, an unexpected joke, or one of the many little things that made her unmistakably herself. Above all else, Sherry was a mother. Her sons, Mitchell Lee and William Kendall, were at the center of her world, and her love for them remained one of the defining parts of her life. She carried the hopes, worries, joys, and struggles of her children deeply within her, always wanting the best for them and wanting them to know they were loved. She would always say "I'd fight lions, tigers and bears for my boys." and that was never once doubted. The family invites anyone who knew her to share their memories and reflections, as there are countless cherished moments that can only be truly appreciated through the stories of those whose lives she touched. The little things she said, the laughter she shared, the animals she cared for, and the people she loved will remain a part of the lives she touched. Her absence will be deeply felt, but so too will the love she gave so freely. She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
