Ricardo "Rick" Aleman

Ricardo “Rick” Aleman was born on February 19, 1961, in Knox City, Texas, and went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2026. Rick was the kind of person you didn’t simply meet; you remembered him. With a larger-than-life personality, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a laugh that could fill a room, Rick brought joy wherever he went. He was always laughing, dancing, joking, and telling stories. At family gatherings, once Rick got going, it wasn’t long before the phones came out because everyone knew they were about to hear something worth recording. There wasn’t a single person in Rick’s tribe, no matter their age, who wasn’t deeply impacted by him. He had a special way of connecting with everyone, especially the children in our family. They adored their Uncle Rick. He joked with them, danced with them, made them laugh, and was never too grown-up to be silly right alongside them. When Uncle Rick was around, you knew there was going to be fun. Rick was the beloved son of Jesus Aleman Sr. and Elena Aleman. Of all the relationships he treasured, the bond he shared with his mother was especially precious. Rick loved his mama, and his mama loved her boy. He was the proud father of three children and grandfather to five grandchildren. He loved his family deeply, and they will carry with them a lifetime of stories, laughter, and memories of the one-of-a-kind man they were blessed to call Dad, Grandpa, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Although mostly retired, Rick worked as a crossing guard for All City Management, a job that seemed made for him. Even there, his personality shined. If you happened to drive by his post at the right time, you might catch him dancing in the street with some of the children he crossed. That was Rick. He could turn an ordinary moment into something joyful. Rick loved Jesus, classic rock and roll, good food, family gatherings, and our Saturday morning family breakfasts at Theo’s. More than anything, he loved being surrounded by his people. Rick often spoke throughout his life about not having much. Yet in the end, he showed all of us just how much one person can truly give. Following his passing, Rick became an organ donor and saved two lives. His kidneys were donated to two people in Texas, including a 51-year-old man who had been waiting 2,634 days, more than seven years, for a transplant. There is something so beautifully fitting about this being part of Rick’s final story. A man who often thought he didn’t have much to give left this world giving something money could never buy. He gave someone tomorrow. Two someones, actually. Rick leaves to cherish his memory his beloved mother, Elena Aleman; his children, Jesse, Jennifer, and Ricardo Jr.; his grandchildren, Jesse, Ricardo, Elena Jo, Natalie, and Carlos; his siblings, Robert Aleman, Jo Ann Aleman, Norma Puente, Jesus Aleman Jr., and Tammy Hinojosa; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Aleman Sr.; his brother-in-law, Noe Hinojosa; and his nephew, Joseph Torres. Rick leaves an enormous hole in our family, but he also leaves us something death can never take away, the joy he brought into our lives. We will remember his laughter, his dancing, his crazy stories, his love for his mama and his family, and the countless moments that will have us laughing through our tears for years to come. There will never be another Rick. And somewhere in Texas, two people have another chance at life because he was here. Our son. Our father. Our grandfather. Our brother. Our uncle. Our friend. Our Rick. Our Hero. Rest easy, Rick. You did good! Until we see you again, we’ll keep telling your stories. We love you and we will miss you! The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Dallas First Church, 5606 W. Illinois Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75211 and a Celebration of Life will be conducted Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow immediately at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie,Texas 75052.
