Reid Michael Amsler

Our beloved Reid Michael Amsler, 31, of Carrollton, TX, earned his angel wings suddenly on May 23, 2023. We will miss him dearly. Reid is at peace now in the loving arms of Jesus, having fought the good fight. Memorial Service will be held June 2, 2023 at 10:00 am at Heartland Church, 4020 Nazarene, Carrollton, TX. 75010. Reid was born on October 9, 1991 in Dallas, Texas to Robert and Lori Amsler. He grew up with his older brother, Jordan and younger sister, Morgan in Carrollton, Texas. Reid graduated with the class of 2010 from Creekview High School. Reid loved to play football and primarily played running back, linebacker and nose guard. He was a member of YoungLife and worked as a counselor one summer in Arizona. After graduation, Reid attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood from 2010-2014 and was a cross-cultural studies/business major. Reid moved to Rochester, NY in 2014 where he assisted his uncle, pastor Elliott Sneed with Discovery Church. He actively participated with groups and missions and served on the production team running the sound board from 2014 to early 2020. Reid was a hard worker and enjoyed working with his hands. Some favorite jobs were in sales, landscaping and his most recent endeavor was as a Customer Experience associate with U-Haul in Lewisville. In his free time, he enjoyed video games with his online gaming community, drinking coffee of any kind, was an excellent writer and we think he just might have been a cat whisperer :). Star Wars and the force were lifelong favorites, and he loved beautiful flowers. Reid loved his family and we dearly loved him. Death does not sever the bonds. In his presence, his love was obvious. His smile could illuminate the world. In addition, Reid was a man of boundless devotion and love for Jesus. His greatest passion and gift was sharing Jesus and his concern was for souls that were not committed to eternal peace in heaven. He shared everywhere he went...on walks, to the doctor, to homeless in the street, to the hurting, to the lost and most important to him, to his family and friends. His total impact is known only to God. This is his greatest legacy. Reid is survived by his Father, Robert Amsler; Mother, Lori Amsler-Pitkin and step-dad, Gregg Pitkin; Brother, Jordan Amsler (Sara) and nephew, Idris Amsler, due any day; Sister, Morgan Amsler; Grandparents, Don and Barbara Sneed; Aunt/Uncle: Amy and Jeff Andrews and Heather and Elliott Sneed; Cousins: Stephen Andrews, Ryan Andrews (Bethany) & Hudson and Rylee Andrews, Abby, Micah & Reagan Sneed; Step brothers: Ian Pitkin and Dillon Pitkin (Mady) and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by Grandfather, Dan Wood Amsler and Grandmother, Lucille (Cille) Amsler.
