Paul Martin Kirk

With great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Martin Kirk, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who left us on January 18, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on September 1, 1936, in Indiana, the son of the late Harland P Kirk and the late Margret L Burns Kirk. Paul spent his later years in Grand Prairie, Texas, where he created a warm and loving home for his family. Soon after high school graduation, Paul joined the United States Air Force, and honorably served from 1954 to 1958. Afterward, he worked a short time in his father's Auto Parts store, then a short stint with the US Coast and Geodetic Survey, and then finally found his happy workplace with the Federal Aviation Administration as an Electronics Technician, where he worked approximately 30 years with a tight knit group of colleagues to maintain operation of the Mesa Rica Radar Site near Tucumcari, NM. In his off-time, he loved driving 18-wheeler truck rigs as a hobby, and completed many trips hauling cattle for local ranchers, and later on taking cross country trips for Yellow Freight after he retired from the FAA. He also loved traveling in their RV, and thoroughly enjoyed participating and socializing in organized trips with friends. At home, Paul greatly enjoyed watching classic western movies, and spending quality time with family. Paul is survived by his devoted spouse, Melchora Kirk, and his children: daughter Deborah McNeal, son Jeffrey Kirk, and daughter Elizabeth Duffy. He also leaves behind his cherished brothers, Thomas and David Kirk. Paul was a proud grandfather, survived by his grandsons Jared Kirk, Adam Kirk, and James Duffy, as well as his granddaughters Rachel Johnson, Christina Rauth, Sarah Duffy, and Megan Smith. He was also a great-grandfather to Isaac Smith. A public viewing will be held at Guerrero Dean Funeral Home on January 30, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Rosary will commence at St. Michael the Archangel Church at 10:15 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate Paul’s life and legacy. A graveside service will take place at the DFW National Cemetery on February 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Paul Martin Kirk will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. If friends desires, contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association or of charity of choice. Paul is preceded in death by his parents Harland and Margaret, and his brother James J Kirk. He is survived by his wife, Melchora; children Jeffrey, Elizabeth, and Deborah; his brothers Thomas Kirk and David Kirk; seven grandchildren, Jared Kirk and Adam Kirk, Rachel Johnson and Christina Rauth, James Duffy, Sarah Duffy, and Megan Smith; and his one great-grandson Isaac Smith.
