Mr. Norris Barron Mersereau

Norris Barron Mersereau, a loving father, adoring grandfather, and faithful brother, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2023, at the age of 96 in Arlington, Texas. Born on May 26, 1927, in Bartlett, NH, he was the fourth child of seven born to the late Reginald Mersereau and the late Marguerite Hovey Mersereau. Norris led a life filled with love, family, and service to his country. Norris served in the United States Army/Air Corps as a dedicated MP. Enlisting on November 28, 1945, he served with honor and distinction until his discharge on October 22, 1948, achieving the rank of PFC. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he carried his sense of duty throughout his life. Norris was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-five years, Elizabeth Mersereau, with whom he shared a deep and profound love. Together, they embarked on countless adventures, traveling across the United States and Canada. They shared a passion for creating cherished memories with family wherever they went. Their love was palpable, and their connection remained strong until her passing. Family was at the heart of Norris's life. He was a devoted father to his daughters Valerie Mersereau Dobrava, Pamela Mersereau Cher, and Victoria Mersereau Allen, and his son, Dwight Mersereau. Their love and bond were unbreakable, rooted in the values Norris instilled in them. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Brian Manders, Karen Manders, Courtney Cher, and Emily Mersereau, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Born the fourth of seven children, Norris cherished his siblings. He shared a special bond with his sister, Patrica Rogerson, and their bond of love and support lasted a lifetime. His family, both immediate and extended, meant the world to him, and he found solace in their presence and shared memories. He was preceded in death by siblings, Doris Rutledge, Herman, George, Gerald and Jimmy Mersereau. During his life journey, Norris resided in various locations, living in Massachusetts and Nevada before ultimately settling in Plano, TX. He embraced the opportunities that each place offered, building new connections and forging lifelong friendships. Norris's vibrant spirit will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. To honor and commemorate Norris's life, a public viewing will be held on December 23, 2023, at Guerrero Dean Funeral Home, 500 E Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX, 75050 at 9:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery at 11:00 am, paying tribute to his dedicated service in the Army/Air Corps. Norris Barron Mersereau will forever be remembered as a man of integrity, love, and unwavering devotion. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
