Narcedalia "Nancy" Hernandez

Narcedalia Leal Hernandez, 69, (known to everyone as Nancy) passed, surrounded by those who loved her deeply, to be with her heavenly father on October 29, 2017 at 8:32 p.m. at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Irving, Texas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Embassy City Church, 6300 N. Beltline Road, Irving, TX, 75063. Born in Mission, Texas, to the late Dolores and Samuel Leal, Sr. She grew up in Killeen, Texas where she met her partner in life Ruben Hernandez. She left her childhood home and married Ruben on July 4, 1965, starting her own family. While still living in Killeen, Texas, her journey in life began as a new wife and soon to be mother, of Ruben, Elida and Leopoldo. They later moved to Dallas in late 1971 and then finally planted their family roots in Irving, Texas in 1974, where she gave birth to her last child Raquel. She spent the next 44 years making her home and raising her family in the same house where she spent her last days. While living in Irving, Nancy spent the years her children were young as a housewife. She dedicated her time to her children until Raquel started school, at which time she entered her 20 year career in the Irving Independent School District from 1983 through 2003. She spent most of her tenure as a teacher’s aide for J.O. Schulze and her latter years as an administrative assistant until her final retirement in 2010. She had a passion for teaching and was well known for her talented, artistic skills. She was giving of her creative abilities, from baking to handcrafting mums and corsages for school homecoming events to baking and craft making for her students in school. She loved Jesus and attending church and she loved to dance and celebrate her life’s many family get togethers. She was a loving, devoted faithful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, Nana, Duchess and friend to her husband, children, siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Ruben Hernandez Sr; sons, Ruben Hernandez Jr, (Ernestine), Leopoldo Hernandez, (Stephanie) daughters, Elida Cobbs, (Barry) and Raquel, grandchildren, Andrew, (Samantha), Keaton, (Jenny), Dylan, Melissa, Alyssa, Megan, Sophia, Briana, Rebecca, Katrina, Daniel, Antonio, Alexander, and Evangelina, great-grandchildren, Asher, Kambrie, Brylie, Ella, Ava, Ellie, Audrie, Scarlett, and Andie, brothers, Samuel Jr., Álvaro, Ramiro, Ricardo, and Fortunato Leal, sisters Maria Cruz, Natalia Ybarbo, Blanca Duran and Amalia Leal. Nancy was preceeded in death by her mother Dolores Leal, father Samuel Leal, Sr., brothers, Antonio and Rojelio Leal and Magdaleno Zuniga.
