Con amor y gratitud por una vida llena de fe y servicio, honramos la memoria de José de Jesús Ríos Tavera, quien nació el 7 de diciembre de 1947 en Cuernavaca, Morelos, México, hijo de Salvador Ríos Amezcua y Eloisa Tavera. Hombre de profunda fe católica, dedicó su vida a Dios, a su familia y al servicio de los demás, dejando un legado de amor, humildad y generosidad. José de Jesús enfrentó su batalla contra el cáncer con valentía y una confianza inquebrantable en Dios hasta el final, siendo un ejemplo de fe y perseverancia. Le sobreviven su amada esposa, María Elena “Malena” Alva; sus hijos, María Marlenne, Jesús Gabriel y Allan Jesús Ríos Alva; sus nietos, Fernanda Sofía, María Paula, Patricio Gabriel, Ricardo y Santiago Gallareta Ríos; y sus hermanos, Alejandro, Juan José, Arturo y Martha Ríos Tavera. El entierro se realizará inmediatamente a las 12 del mediodía en el Cementerio Holy Redeemer, 1500 Westmoreland Road, DeSoto, Texas 75115. A man of deep Catholic faith, he dedicated his life to God, his family, and the service of others, leaving a legacy of love, humility, and generosity. José de Jesús faced his battle with cancer with courage and unwavering trust in God until the very end, serving as an example of faith and perseverance. He is survived by his beloved wife, María Elena “Malena” Alva; his children, María Marlenne, Jesús Gabriel, and Allan Jesús Ríos Alva; his grandchildren, Fernanda Sofía, María Paula, Patricio Gabriel, Ricardo, and Santiago Gallareta Ríos; and his siblings, Alejandro, Juan José, Arturo, and Martha Ríos Tavera. He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvador Ríos Amezcua and Eloisa Tavera. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7 The Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 400 NE 17th Street, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050. Interment will follow immediately at noon at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 1500 Westmoreland Road, DeSoto, Texas 75115. Visitation is Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., concluding with the Holy Rosary at 8:00 p.m.
