Jeffrey Lynn Nichols

Jeffrey Lynn Nichols, 72, of Weatherford passed away September 4, 2021. Jeff grew up in Ohio but was known to say "I wasn't born in Texas but I got there as quick as I could". After working for Kroger for twenty seven years he chose to leave the company to open a business of his own with his wife Lisa. Following his dream of passing on his love of the outdoors, being on the lake and fishing, Jeff and Lisa opened the Possum Kingdom State Park Store and Marina. It was truly his passion to help others to enjoy their time in the outdoors as much as he did. Eventually they opened a second location in Lake Mineral Wells State Park. After many years Jeff again chose to pursue his dreams and sold their Possum Kingdom State Park Store and purchased some land in Weatherford. His dream was to raise chickens, goats, and to start an orchard. Although he was able to start his orchard, he never got the chance to begin raising the chickens. Jeff was a man with many interests and talents besides the avid outdoorsman he was also an accomplished cook, fabulous photographer, and an avid gardener. He loved to share his interests with all who would listen. He loved to talk. The subject could be local history, fishing, birds and that weather. He was our local weatherman. Everyone knew to call Jeff for the forecast. Jeff was full of Love, Joy and kindness. He was taken from us far too soon. He will be missed. Jeff is survived by his wife Lisa Nichols, Son Kelcey and wife Christie Nichols, Daughter Karen and husband Terry Abernathy, their daughter Callie, his son Kevin Nichols, brother Nick and wife Patricia Nichols, his beloved dogs Bella and Baxter as well as a host of family and friends. MY LIFE, MY LOVE, MY JEFF I lost my love, how can it be? Victim of a virus we cannot see Jeff's life was precious, we all agree I lost my love, how can it be? This wasn't the agreement we made in the past We promised forever, why didn't it last? You were my best friend, so loyal and true Oh God how could you do this? I trusted you! Have faith! Miracles happen! I did believe But did all of these words really deceive? I must now live my best life with you in my heart Faithful and true from the very start I cannot lose hope. I must believe Jeff is in a better place that I cannot see I CANNOT LOSE HOPE! I cannot believe That God would desert me in my time of need I must remember that there is a Great Plan And right now God needed my fisherman I love you Jeff with all of my heart 35 plus years since we've been apart But I know you'll be waiting for me when it's time I know that you'll be there You great love of mine.
