Helen Lorraine McCrohan

Helen Lorraine Biggs McCrohan, sweet and beloved, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 26, 2021. Born in Detroit, Michigan on October 14, 1930, to Cleo & Mary Biggs, Helen grew up in the Detroit area. She married James McCrohan before moving to Arlington, Virginia. The young family embarked on a new adventure to North Texas in 1968 where she remained even after his passing. In her younger years, she worked as a secretary for Ford Motor Company for many years, then for James in his business, Infocom & Associates, and later on for Delve in market research before retiring. Helen was an easy-going woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She was often helping others, taking her children to their sporting events and cheering them on, helping her husband with his business and attending church regularly. But, just being at home with her family was what she enjoyed most. Later in life, she treasured the warmth and love of being a grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband James, sisters Wanda Rice and Doris Biggs. She is survived by her children Aletha Schultz, Connel McCrohan and Desmond (Michelle) McCrohan, her grandchildren Melinda (Timothy) Moorefield and Ryan McCrohan, step-grandchildren Jordan Guthrie and Ryan (Katelyn) Donovan, great-grandchildren Hope and Ella Moorefield. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Silvermark Assisted Living who became extended family. These angels were our hands and feet to her especially during the pandemic when we could not be with her. We are eternally grateful for the loving care she received while there. Viewing will be on Friday, March 12 from 10am-12pm, followed by a noon Celebration of Life at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, located at 500 Main St, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. Burial will follow the service.
