Hannah Olivia McCoy, a woman of strength and warmth, has gracefully left this earthly realm and embarked on her eternal journey on February 12, 2024. She was born on April 13, 1943, the daughter and only child of the late Henry Birdsall and the late Sarah Jenkins Birdsall in Harlem, New York. Hannah lived a life filled with love, compassion, and deep devotion to her family. Her peaceful departure has left a void in our hearts, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all. Hannah radiated grace and elegance throughout her life, exemplifying the true essence of a virtuous woman. As a devoted wife of 61 years to the love of her life, Linnell McCoy Sr., her unwavering loyalty and commitment became the pillar of their unbreakable bond. Together, they weathered life's storms, embarking on countless adventures and creating beautiful memories along the way. As a mother and grandmother, Hannah's love knew no bounds. Nurturing and compassionate, she dedicated herself to the well-being and happiness of her children, Robin, Lynda, Linnell Jr and Deven. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Ebonei, Bruce Jr, Lerice, Anthony, Alyssa, Andrew, Thaddius, Adanya, Zaria,Kian and 6 great-grandchildren, Shae, Elijah, Savanah,Sahara, Warren, Sanaa . Her infectious laughter and tender moments will forever echo in their hearts, reminding them of the incredible woman she was. Throughout her professional career, Hannah made a profound impact in the accounting field, working diligently for the United States Government. Her unwavering dedication led her to various institutions, including the Food and Drug Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, and later, a role as a State Correctional Officer. Her exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence earned her the utmost respect from her colleagues and superiors. In 2018, Hannah and her beloved spouse made a heartfelt decision to relocate to Grand Prairie, Texas, to be closer to their treasured family. It was in this new chapter of their lives that Hannah was able to continue her love for gardening, skillfully cultivating a vibrant oasis of vegetables and flowers. Her green thumb mirrored the beauty and growth she instilled within her loved ones' lives. Hannah's sage wisdom and compassionate nature made her the matriarch of the family. She possessed an innate ability to offer guidance, support, and a listening ear to anyone in need. Her words of wisdom resonated deeply within the hearts of those fortunate enough to cross her path, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. As we bid farewell to our beloved Hannah, we find solace in knowing that her spirit lives on within each of us. Her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering strength will continue to inspire generations to come. To honor the extraordinary life that Hannah Olivia McCoy lived, a Funeral Service will be held on February 24, 2024, at 12 P.M. at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home. Prior to the service, a Public Viewing will take place beginning at 11:00 A.M. Following her wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes will be taken back to New York.
