Mr Gordon Stuart Peryam

Gordon Stuart "Stu" Peryam, a distinguished gentleman whose journey on this earth commenced in the small town of Middletown, CT on June 8, 1932, bids farewell to this world on a serene day in June 23, 2024. As the oldest living Peryam on record, Gordon was the cherished son of his loving parents and the proud elder sibling to a dear sister. His passage marks the end of a life well-lived, filled with abundant grace, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. From his earliest days, Gordon exuded integrity and dedication. A devoted member of the Boy Scouts during his youth, he cultivated a sense of service and camaraderie that would stay with him throughout his lifetime. He honorably served his country in the US Air Force during the tumultuous Korean Conflict. Following his service in the Air Force he graduated from the University of Connecticut. With each step, Gordon displayed a steadfastness of character, a quiet strength that inspired all who were fortunate enough to know him. Guided by his faith, Stu found solace in the embrace of St. Andrew Anglican Church in Grand Prairie, where he sought spiritual nourishment and community. A man of varied interests and pursuits, he found delight in the simple pleasures of collecting stamps, swinging a golf club, and losing himself in the pages of a well-worn book. His thirst for knowledge and adventure led him to explore the world, with highlights including a memorable visit to Russia in the early 1990s, an experience that broadened his horizons and deepened his appreciation for other cultures. After spending a chapter of his life in the quiet landscapes of Green Valley, AZ, Stu made his home in Grand Prairie, surrounded by the love and warmth of his devoted wife and family. His marriage of sixty-seven years stands as a testament to enduring love and unwavering commitment, a beacon of hope and constancy in a world of change. To honor and remember Gordon Stuart Peryam, a public viewing will be held at the Guerrero Dean Funeral Home on July 2, 2024, at 9:30 am. Following, a graveside service will take place at the Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens at 10:30 am with the rendering of Military Honors. As we bid him farewell on this earthly plane, let us take solace in the knowledge that his spirit soars free, a gentle soul at peace in the realms beyond. In his passing, we find both sorrow and gratitude, mourning the loss of his earthly presence yet celebrating the legacy of love and wisdom he leaves behind. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Ethel Peryam and his sister, Joan Reilly. Survivors include his wife, Carol Groat Peryam; children, Scott Peryam (Teri) , Cynthia Henderson (Scott "SA"); grandchildren, Sara Henderson, Marc Henderson (Brea); great grandchildren, Alexander, Owen and Isla.
