Rev. Floyd Bailey Leverton

Rev. Floyd Bailey Leverton’s celebration of life will be Friday, January 18, 2019, at 1:00 pm at the United Pentecostal Church of Paris, Texas. The family will receive guests at 12:00 pm, prior to the service, at the same location. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Oklahoma. Floyd Leverton was born April 21, 1932, in Atoka, Oklahoma. He went to his eternal home on January 14, 2019, in Paris, Texas at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Reba Leverton. Also by his son, Bart Leverton; grandson, Joshua Leverton; parents, Oscar and Dora Leverton; brothers, Alan, J. C. and Waymon Leverton; sister, Hazel Leverton. He is survived by his daughter, Gina Dean and husband Jerry, of Bossier City, Louisiana; daughter, Jana Leverton of Paris, Texas; Grandchildren: Jeremy Dean, Charidy Stanley, Ryan Dean, Justin Leverton, and Brenae Leverton; Great grandchildren: Lincoln Stanley, Harrison Stanley, Luke Dean, Eva Dean, Raylan Dean, River Dean, Joshua Mack Leverton and Beckham Leverton; Sisters, Helen Daughtery and husband Roy, of Lubbock, Texas and Juanita Calvin of Levelland, Texas. Rev. Floyd Leverton was ordained as a minister with the United Pentecostal Church International in 1955. He pastored churches in Montrose, Colorado and Texico, New Mexico, prior to serving thirty-two years as pastor at New Beginnings United Pentecostal Church in Abilene, Texas. While in Abilene he also served the Texico District as the District Home Missions Director and Sectional Presbyter. For the past twelve years he has been a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Paris, Texas. The family is deeply indebted to Pastor and Mrs. Bob Myre and the church family for the sincere love and deep respect shown to the Leverton family. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Floyd Leverton Memorial Bible School in Guadalajara, Mexico. Memorials can be sent to The Pentecostals of Bossier City, 2833 Viking Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana 71111 or The United Pentecostal Church in Paris, 5075 Southeast Loop 286, Paris, Texas 75460. Funds will be used to enlarge the facilities in Guadalajara. Pallbearers: Justin Leverton, Louie Sullins, Jeremy Dean. Jeff Leverton, Brandon Baudoin, Ryan Dean, Lincoln Stanley and Shannon Stanley. Honorary Pallbearers: Michael Richburg, Roy Richburg and Steve Baudoin. The family also wishes to say thank you to Mark and Sylvia Dean and Guerrero-Dean Home Funeral Home in Grand Prairie, Texas. Their spirit of excellence is apparent to all.
