David Michael Teichmann

David Michael Teichmann was born December 4, 1962 in Mineral Wells, Texas. Growing up under the influence of his parents Mike and Evelyn Teichmann, as well as his grandparents, David learned the value of hard work, honesty, the love of God, and the art of fishing, which would become a lifelong passion. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E. Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050, where a service will follow immediately at 10:00 a.m. Interment 11:30 a.m. at DFW National Cemetery. After a family move to Denton during his teens, David enjoyed playing baseball, and graduated from Denton High School in 1981. Shortly after graduation, he proudly joined the US Military serving as a Military Police for the Army. David excelled in this position while based at Fort Hood, receiving several honors, and completed his term in the military as a team leader while based in Germany. Once returning to the States, David, as his father, embarked upon a 20 plus year career with the electric company, known then as TP&L and later TXU. While there, he promoted to many positions, but more importantly built friendships that would endure the remainder of his life. Many hours of laughter could be spent reminiscing about their championship baseball teams, bowling league, chili cook offs, and fishing trips to Lake Creek. Following his time at TXU, David returned to his officer training background and took a position as a correctional officer where he remained until his illness required him to retire home to his loved ones. His compassion, determination, humanity, and hearty laughter will be greatly missed by all whom loved him. David is survived by his fiancée Linda Hernandez, who has been a steadfast supporter in all aspects of his life. Additional survivors include a sister; Nancy Johnston and her husband Jeff of Galveston, nieces and nephews; Neelley Armes and husband Bray, Lauren Riley, Brooke Riley & John Michael Riley, great nieces and nephews; Breely, Drake and Lola, uncle; Raymond Brewton, cousins; Kevin Brewton, Natasha Teichmann Van De Vaarst, Heather Teichmann and Nicole Teichmann Gray and his beloved dog Ajax.
