Benito Garcia Leal

Benito Leal left to be with his Heavenly Father on July 15, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on April 15, 1936, in San Benito, Texas. Benito lived a life defined by hard work and unwavering dedication to his family. After his tour in the US Army, Benito met the love of his life Irma Leal. They were married in January of 1960. He worked for the Xerox Corporation, retiring at the age of 62. A faithful member of Gateway Church of Grand Prairie, Benito found great joy in his faith and community, when his health permitted. He cherished his roles as a father and grandfather, providing love and guidance to his family throughout his life. He is survived by his daughters, Norma Gonzales (Gerry) and Criselda Chavez; son, Alfredo Leal; sisters, Celeste Garcia (Ramiro) and Oralia Moody; grandchildren; Bryan Gonzales (Ginny), Renee Gonzales, Jessica Gonzales, Erica Santos, Nick Santos (Kelli), Jacob Santos, Dominique Chavez (Daisy), Jerrica Chavez. Great grandchildren; Alex Gonzales (Mercedes), Jocelyn Gonzales, Madison Gomez, Easton Santos, Emilia Santos, Analeah Chavez, Victoria Chavez, Bella Chavez, Dominick Chavez. Benito was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Irma Leal, who passed away in June of 2018. Also by his parents, Alfredo and Teofila Leal and a daughter, Cynthia Santos. Benito was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved to watch and attend games. He loved to travel and spend time at the beach with his family. Family and friends will gather to honor Benito's memory during a public viewing at Guerrero Dean Funeral Home on July 23, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on July 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Benito Leal will be remembered for his kindness, work ethic, and love for his family. His legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. Peace, I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
