Arthur Michael "Mike" Weathers, husband of fifty-five years to the love of his life, Joyce. Father to 3 daughters and loving Papa to grandchildren and great-grandchildren, entered into eternal rest on Saturday evening, July 22, 2023. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2023 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX, 75050 where Funeral Services will be conducted at 12. Committal Service with Military Honors: 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Mike Weathers was born August 21, 1946, the 2nd of 5 children born to the late Arthur Wayne Weathers and the late Ellen Jacqueline Butler Weathers in Rogers, Arkansas. Mike was a successful business man, running several businesses throughout his life that allowed him to provide well for his family. From the moment they married, Mike's main focus was his wife Joyce and their family. Mike and Joyce met when they were both in the 5th grade and living back to back in Grand Prairie. Mike became close with Joyce's brother Ronnie and the two began a friendship that would last a lifetime. Mike enjoyed taking Joyce to the horse races where Ronnie and his wife Sherry would often join them in the fun. When his girls were old enough they also got to join in. Mike made being a wonderful husband and father look easy. He always made time to take the family to sporting events for his favorite teams, The Dallas Cowboys, The Texas Rangers, and The Dallas Stars. In the early years vacations included cabins, fishing trips, and family reunions to visit with loved ones like his brothers, his sister and their families. Road trips with the kids were always a good time, even if Graceland was closed when they got there. In more recent times he enjoyed vacations to Orlando and California to have fun at the Disney parks with Joyce, his kids and grandkids. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Ellen Weathers. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Weathers of Grand Prairie; daughter, Dana Jones (Toney) of Grand Prairie; daughter, Kim Hogue (Charlie) of Arlington; daughter, Candice Weathers of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Brik and Jaxon; great-grandchildren, MJ, Addy, Hunter, Raelynn, Solarah, Tyler, Stetson, Ryker and Ryver; brothers, Anthony Wayne "Tony" (Joy) of Grand Prairie, Rev. Kevin Weathers (Rhonda) of Ft. Worth, and Troy Douglas Weathers (Catherine) of St. Petersburg, Florida; sister, Nancy Ann Hanshew (Lonnie) of Iredell, Texas.
