Jerald Marshall Cope, 77, a retired employee of Southwestern Bell, passed away peacefully on early Sunday morning, July 18, 2021 at his home in Arlington. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 E Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX, 75050. A private committal will follow at a later date. Jerald Marshall Cope was born on January 29, 1944, the oldest of 2 children born to the late Laurel V. Cope and the late Viola Louis Penny Cope in Dallas, Texas. He was raised in Arlington, graduating from Arlington High School. Shortly after graduation, he would join the Texas Air National Guard where he worked on the flight line. Jerald was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed deer hunting. He was a skilled wood-worker and enjoyed building bird-houses. You would often find him outside, gardening or taking care of chickens. He is survived by his spouse of fifty-four years, Gloria Lynn Carr Cope; children, Amye Lawson, Brady Cope; grandson, Brady Marshall Cope II and a sister, Carolyne Coker.
