Herbert Erwin Hebbe Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Herbert "Herb" Erwin Hebbe, Sr., entered his heavenly home at the age of 97 on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Herb was born October 26, 1924, in Pflugerville, Texas, to the late, Erick Hebber, Sr., and Clara Hodde Hebbe, though he lived most of his life in Grand Prairie. He enlisted and served the US Army during WW II, where he was a mechanic. Upon his return home, he married Ila on January 8, 1949, and soon after they started a family. Herb was a machinist in the aeronautics industry at LTV, Chance Vought, MSD (Missile Space Division) and Lockheed Martin, where he retired. His favorite hobby has been restoring cars. His heart was broken when his wife, Ila, passed away, and after taking care of her for 40 years with Huntington's Disease. He remained strong, however. That strength would also endure at the loss of four children and a granddaughter until the end. He was preceded in death by his wife Ila Bell (Bryd) Hebbe; brothers and sisters, Martin, Ewald, Hertha Hebbe, Claradene Ulbrick, Erick Jr., Dorothy Anderson, Donald, Leroy, Fritz and LaVerne Hebbe; children, Herbert Jr., Carolyn McLeod, Frances Garrett and Cynthia McCalvin; and granddaughter, Christy McCalvin. He is survived by his son, Robert; grandchildren, Patricia Whitley, Mary Lightfoot, Michael McLeod, Karen McLeod, Angela Green, Clayton Hebbe and Rayden Hebbe; great-grandchildren, Tyler Hebbe, Emily Olivia, Ashlee Whitley, Brennon McLeod, Aiden McLeod, Kaleb McLeod, Jessica Abdinoor, Brittany Green, Kayla Green, Brayden Green, Ashtyn Green and Elyh Green; and great-great-grandchildren, Madison Hebbe, Alayna Hebbe, Destiny Oliva and Frank Oliva Jr. He loved his family, was loved by them and will be missed greatly and wonderful memories remain in our hearts His memory may be honored with a gift to Dementia Research or Huntington's Disease Association.
