Edna Richards Crump, 92, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend, passed away Friday evening, March 26, 2021 following a brief illness. Visitation: 10 to 11 A.M.. Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Eighth Street Baptist Church, Skyline Drive, Grand Prairie, TX, 75050 where funeral services will follow at 11. Burial: Southland Memorial Park. Edna Crump was born in the east Texas community of Murchison, Texas, the daughter of the late James Richards and the late Julia Hobbs Richards. Her early years were spent in Murchison, but shortly after entering high school, the family would move to Grand Prairie. She would graduate from Grand Prairie High School, class of 1946. While in high school, like many who grew up in Grand Prairie, worked at Millar Drug. After graduating high school, she would work sales for May Jewelers almost thirty years in downtown Grand Prairie. Her family was her priority. She loved cooking for them, and her baked goods were always the delight of a meal. Her meringue chocolate or coconut pie were second only to her chocolate chip cookies. She was a strong Christian believer. Her faithfulness was displayed by her more than forty years of membership at Eighth Street Baptist. Survivors: daughters, Brenda Edwards Strepay and her spouse Phillip, Sandra Edwards May and her spouse Pete; grandchildren, Jimmy Thompson and his spouse Christi, Christopher Thompson, Aaron Edward Nowell and his spouse Laura Jane, Amanda Julia Bentley and her spouse Jason; great-grandchildren, C.J. Thompson Jr., Addyson Nowell, Sierra Thompson, Bryson Nowell, Brooklin Thompson, Mayson Nowell, Jaclyn Nowell, Trenton Thompson and Hudson Bentley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dwight Crump; siblings, B.C. Richards, Bill Richards, James Richards, Mary Lou Slater, Lillie Lawler and Jackie Edwards.
