Dana Shelton Edwads Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dana Shelton Edwards, 74, a retired Grand Prairie ISD educator, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at her home in Grand Prairie surrounded by family. Dana was born on October 30, 1947, the daughter of the late William Lewis Shelton and the late Myrtle Brown Shelton in Fort Worth, Texas. She was raised in Irving, graduating from Irving High School in 1965. She would continue her education at Texas Woman's University in Denton where she would earn Bachelors' and Master's degrees. She taught early elementary classes in School in Grand Prairie for many years. Her time included teaching at Fannin Elementary, Bonham Elementary, Florence Hill Elementary, Milan Elementary, and she was an original teacher at Garner Elementary, now Garner Fine Arts Academy. Dana had various interest, including leading and participating in various Bible Studies, various church activities, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Charles William Edwards; children, Chad Edwards, (Colleen), Sarah Teubner (Chris); 5 grandchildren; brother, Kirby Lee Shelton (Gwynn), and sister-in-law Ruth,Ann Shelton. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother Rusty Shelton.
