Betty Jo Gibbs, 82, a native of Wilson, Oklahoma, and long time resident of Lancaster, died Thursday, February 4, 2010.

Betty Jo Gibbs was born on October 30, 1927, one of three children born to the late Thomas E. Gibbs and the late Oma Oleta Pierce. Even though she was born with physical disabilities, attending school at the Mexia State School, she never let it be a hindrance to her faith and character.

Those who were blessed to be a part of her life will recall her strong Apostolic faith and her place in the kingdom of God as a "prayer warrior". She was the longest tenured resident of Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She is survived by nephews; Don Miller and his wife Delilah, Thomas Miller and his wife Lynn; niece, Sheila Tellez & her husband, Paul; great nephews and great nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Neoma Jean Gibbs Miller and an infant brother, Thomas Warren Gibbs.

Visitation: 6:30 to 8:30 Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, 500 East Main Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050. Graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Restland Memorial Park, Garden of Faith.
