Leonard O'Neal Davis, 70, of Grand Prairie, TX passed away December 6, 2009 after a brief illness.

Leonard O. Davis was born August 22, 1939 in Alabama, the son of William Leonard Davis and Grace Alene Phelps Davis. He would move to Niagara Falls, NY where he enlisted in the US Air Force. He was a proud veteran, fulfilling his duty which would include serving a tour in Vietnam.

After his discharge, he worked 20 years for the railroad and retired. He was well known for his musical talents that kept his dreams alive through the Veltones, Peppermill and Against the Wind.

Mr. Neal was a long time member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion.

He is survived by his children; Desiree (Michael) Wojcinski, Kevin (Lynn) Davis, Troy (Sarah) Hengst, Michael (Sarah) Eglin, Sarah (Nathan) Jenks, Jason Davis, Shannon Davis, Kelly (Steven) Short, Joshua Davis, 16 grandchildren; Siblings; Charles (Patricia) Davis, Ann Shaffer, Linda Longo and sister-in-law Eleanor Davis.

He was preceded in death by parents William & Grace (Phelps) Davis, brothers, Arthur and Gerald Davis, brother-in-law Andrew Shaffer.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his neighbors and associates at The Lennox House in Grand Prairie.

Memorial service will be held at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home, Grand Prairie, TX, on December 15, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery with military honors at 2:30 p.m.
